Mission Statement

Bridging real estate and conservation

The Conservation Land Network's mission is to protect ecologically significant Priority Properties on the real estate market. Our innovative non-profit partnership of real estate brokers, land trusts, conservation groups and scientists work collaboratively to identify and prioritize top tier conservation properties, and to match them with conservation-minded buyers. The aim is to preserve the ecological integrity of Southwest Montana and to foster responsible land stewardship.

Strategy

The Conservation Land Network bridges real estate and conservation with:

  • Priority Property status for the most ecologically significant properties for sale in our region
  • Scientific third-party identification of top-tier conservation properties
  • Buyer referrals to conservation real estate brokers
  • Information on conservation and stewardship tools
  • Contacts to land trusts, land management and restoration experts who can help new owners protect their land.

"The Conservation Land Network has created a unique tool that links science with market forces. I know of no other effort that evaluates the ecological value of properties on the market... This is the most innovative, timely application for scientific studies I have seen."
